Types of real estate websites
The property type tells you what is being sold or rented. The site type tells you who runs the website, which is what decides whether a row is a customer, a partner, a publisher or a competitor for you.
Listing portals
National and regional sites that aggregate listings from many agents. Few in number, very high traffic, and the main inventory for property advertising.
Agencies and brokers
Independent estate agents, franchise offices and brokerages. The largest group by count and the main target for software and marketing services.
Developers and builders
Home builders, new-build projects and residential developers, often with a separate site for each development.
Property managers and landlords
Letting agents, housing companies and apartment operators with tenant portals and rental listings.
Commercial specialists
Office, retail and industrial brokers, coworking operators and logistics park owners. Smaller group, high deal values.
Property media and advice
Housing market news, mortgage guides, home buying advice and price trackers. Good contextual inventory for finance brands.

Why a property list has to be built market by market
Local language
Agency sites are written in the local language and use local terms for property types. Categorizing from site content means a Swedish bostad site and a Spanish piso site both land in the right group.
Local rules
Licensing, advertising and data rules for property differ by country. Market-level files make it easier to apply the right rules to each campaign.
.com is not one market
Over 1.4 million real estate domains use .com. The country field places many of them, so a .com agency in Spain is not mixed with one in Florida.
Who buys a list of real estate websites
Property is a high-value purchase, so the companies around it pay well to reach buyers, sellers and agents. These are the main buyer groups. Most of them combine the real estate list with their own customer data, matching on the domain column.
Mortgage lenders and banks
Advertise on sites where people actively look at homes, by country and by buy versus rent.
Proptech and CRM vendors
Find agencies and property managers who need listing software, websites, CRM or virtual tours. A classic lead generation use.
Insurers
Reach new homeowners and landlords with home and contents insurance at the moment of purchase.
Home services brands
Moving companies, furniture, energy and broadband providers target people who are about to move.
Investors and analysts
Count agencies, developers or vacation rentals per market to size competition and growth. See market research.
Adtech and agencies
Build contextual property segments in standard IAB tiers for audience segmentation and targeting.
Audience signals on real estate rows
Persona tags describe who a site attracts. These are the property personas across the full database.
Adjacent segments that pair with real estate
A home purchase touches many other categories. Buyers who target movers or homeowners often add these segments from the same database, with the same columns. Counts are domains with the segment as main IAB Tier 1 category.
| Segment | Domains | Why buyers add it |
|---|---|---|
| Home & Garden | 5,504,481 | Renovation, furniture, garden and DIY sites reach people who just moved in |
| Personal Finance | 1,842,387 | Mortgage, savings and budgeting content reaches buyers before they sign |
| Travel | 2,399,861 | Overlaps with vacation property and holiday rentals |
| Business and Finance | 24,605,321 | Holds construction, architecture and property services firms; narrow it with Tier 2 |
Columns in the real estate website list
Each row is one domain with the same columns as the full database. The taxonomy page explains every field.
| Column | What it tells you | Real estate example |
|---|---|---|
| Domain | The website | rightmove.co.uk |
| IAB 2 and IAB 3, Tier 1 to 4 | Topic path in both taxonomy versions | Real Estate > Real Estate Buying and Selling |

| Country | Linked country where known | United Kingdom |

What to watch for in a property website list
Real estate has a few traps that make cheap lists unreliable. A list built from keywords in domain names, for example, picks up thousands of parked "homes" and "realty" domains with no content at all. Here is how we handle the common problems.
Parked "homes" domains
Many property-sounding domains are parked or for sale. They sit in their own category and are not counted as real estate.
Template agent sites
Franchise agents often run near-identical sites. Each is kept as its own domain, so you can count them or group them.
One site per project
Developers launch a domain per building. New sites are checked again after a week and after a month as content appears.
Holiday or travel?
Vacation rentals can be property or travel. Both categories are on the row, so you decide which one counts.

Real estate website list: questions
How many real estate websites are there?
Our database holds 1,924,432 domains whose main IAB category is Real Estate and 2,751,763 domains tagged with the Real Estate web filtering category. The broader number adds classifieds marketplaces and other sites with property sections.
What types of real estate websites are in the list?
The IAB Tier 2 splits the category into 11 groups, led by Real Estate Buying and Selling (638,308 domains), Vacation Properties (419,028), Office Property (212,224), Apartments (206,601) and Real Estate Renting and Leasing (148,607).
Can I get a list of real estate agents' websites in one country?
Yes. Most agency websites are local and use a country domain or carry a country field. You can filter the list by country and by property type, then sort by popularity band.
Which countries have the most real estate websites?
By domain ending, .com leads with 1,439,372 real estate domains, followed by .de with 272,362, .br with 62,274, .ru with 44,139 and .ch with 40,042.
Does the list include commercial property?
Yes. Office Property, Retail Property, Industrial Property, Developmental Sites and Hotel Properties are separate Tier 2 groups, so a commercial-only list is easy to build.
Are vacation rental sites included?
Vacation Properties is the second largest real estate group with 419,028 domains, covering holiday homes, rentals and resort property. Many also carry the Travel category.
Are classifieds sites with property ads included?
They are in the broad view. General classifieds marketplaces carry the Real Estate tag together with Marketplaces / Classifieds / Auctions, but their main IAB category is usually Shopping. You can include or exclude them.
Can I separate portals from individual agencies?
Yes, in practice. Portals sit in the top popularity bands and often carry the classifieds tag, while agencies are spread through the long tail. Sorting by popularity band and filtering on tags separates them for most markets.
Do the counts include parked property domains?
No. Parked and for-sale domains are placed in their own category, so a domain that only shows a "for sale" page is not counted as a real estate website.
Can I use the list for brand safety or filtering?
Yes. Real estate is a low-risk category for advertisers, and many brand safety lists include it by default. Filtering teams use the same rows to allow property sites on managed networks.
What format is the real estate list in?
It is a downloadable CSV file, with Parquet and JSON available, using the same columns as the full categorized database.
How do I buy the real estate website list?
See the pricing page for database sizes and tell us which property types and countries you need. The real estate rows are part of the full database.
