List of Technology Websites
Over 19 million technology domains, sorted into the IAB tiers your systems already read: software, internet services, security, networking, consumer electronics, AI, robotics and more. Popularity bands and country on every row.
The technology web in numbers
Technology is the second largest Tier 1 category in our database of over 120 million domains, behind Business and Finance. Almost one domain in five has technology as its main subject.
Why the list is so big, and how to make it useful
The category holds every IT service company, web agency, hosting firm, software vendor, electronics shop and online service. That is accurate, but a 19 million row file is rarely what a buyer needs. The tiers let you cut it down step by step.
Top 10 technology websites
The ten best-known technology domains, ordered by popularity among real users. Large social and video platforms also sit in Technology & Computing > Internet under IAB rules; we leave them out here so the list shows companies people think of as "tech".

Popular tech sites by country
Among the 300,000 most popular domains with a known country, technology sites are led by the United States (2,331), India (867), Germany (625), Russia (516), Brazil (435) and the United Kingdom (424).
Germany punches above its weight
The .de ending alone holds 1.77 million tech domains, driven by a dense market of IT service firms, system houses and web agencies. See Germany domains.
India's popular tech audience
India is second among popular tech sites with a known country, reflecting large audiences for software, phones and developer content. See India domains.
New generic endings
Endings such as .xyz (362,514 tech domains) and .online (230,787) are popular with startups and side projects. They are worth including for discovery lists and worth filtering by popularity band for ad lists, since many are small or early-stage.
Kinds of technology websites in the list
IAB tiers describe the topic. For most projects you also want to know what kind of business or site sits behind the domain. These are the main types inside the technology category.
Software vendors and SaaS
Companies that sell applications, from accounting tools to design suites. The core of B2B prospecting and the segment with the clearest buying intent.
IT service providers
Managed service providers, system integrators, IT support firms and consultancies. Very numerous, mostly local, and often on country domains.
Web agencies and developers
Design studios, freelance developers and digital agencies. A large share of the long tail, useful for partner programs and reseller outreach.
Hosting and infrastructure
Hosting companies, data centres, domain registrars and content delivery networks. Tagged with the infrastructure filtering category as well.
Electronics brands and retail
Phone, computer and gadget makers, plus specialist electronics shops and repair services. The consumer side of the category.
Tech media and communities
Tech news, reviews, tutorials, developer blogs and Q&A forums. The main inventory for tech advertising.

Who buys a list of technology websites
Technology lists serve both marketing and security teams. These are the buyers we work with most, and each of them uses a different cut of the same file: some want a few thousand precise prospects, others want millions of rows for a model or a filter.
B2B sales and ABM teams
Find software vendors, IT service firms or security companies in a region and match domains to accounts. See lead generation and sales intelligence.
Tech advertisers
Run developer, IT or gadget campaigns on sites that match the product, from programming content to smartphone reviews.
Data enrichment providers
Add a technology tier to company records so customers can segment by what a business does. See data enrichment services.
Security and IT teams
Use functional tags such as remote access, VPN, cloud storage and AI tools to set network policy and review shadow IT.
Analysts and investors
Count AI, robotics or security sites per country to see where a technology is spreading. See market research and intelligence.
Adtech platforms
Label tech publishers and SaaS sites in bid streams with standard IAB tiers, so buyers can target them.
Columns in the technology website list
Same columns as the full database, so tech rows join with any other segment. Full definitions are on the taxonomy page.
| Column | What it holds | Example for a tech site |
|---|---|---|
| Domain | Registered domain or host | github.com |
| IAB 2 Tier 1 to 4 | Content Taxonomy 2 path | Technology & Computing > Computing > Programming Languages |
| IAB 3 Tier 1 to 4 | Content Taxonomy 3 path | Technology & Computing > Computing > Programming Languages |

| Personas | Likely audience types | Software Developer, Full Stack Developer |
| Country | Linked country where known | United States |
| Global popularity band | Rank group among all sites | Top 1,000 |
| Country popularity band | Rank group in its country | Where available |
What keeps a technology list clean
Technology attracts more parked, template and placeholder sites than most categories, because so many domains are registered by developers and agencies. These checks keep them out of your list.
Parked domains removed
Parked and for-sale domains have their own category (596,148 domains in total), so they do not inflate the tech count.
Content, not names
A domain with "tech" or "soft" in its name is not counted as technology unless the site content is about technology.
Rechecked after launch
New sites often start as a blank page. Each new domain is checked again after a week and after a month.
Malicious sites flagged
Phishing and malware domains that imitate software brands carry their own risk category, so you can drop them.
How to get the full technology website list

CSV, Parquet or JSON, refreshed monthly, with a lookup API for single checks.

Technology website list FAQ
How many technology websites are there?
Our database holds 19,176,472 domains whose main IAB category is Technology & Computing, and 18,883,407 domains tagged with the Computers & Technology web filtering category. It is the second largest Tier 1 category after Business and Finance.
Why is the technology category so large?
It covers software companies, IT service providers, web agencies, hosting, electronics brands and stores, tech media and online services. Many small businesses in IT and web services sit here too, which is why most buyers narrow the list with Tier 2 and Tier 3.
Can I get only software or SaaS websites?
Yes. Use the IAB Tier 3 category Computer Software and Applications under Computing. Among the 300,000 most popular domains it is the second biggest tech group, after Internet.
Is there a list of cybersecurity websites?
Yes. The Tier 3 category Information and Network Security collects security vendors, research blogs and security services. It can be delivered on its own or combined with networking and data storage.
Are AI websites part of the technology list?
Yes. Artificial Intelligence is a Tier 2 category with 233,862 domains. The separate AI / LLM Tools web filtering category tags 136,593 domains that offer AI tools.
Which countries have the most technology websites?
By domain ending, .com leads with 8,156,222 tech-tagged domains, followed by .de with 1,769,805, then .net, .ru, .org, .nl and .uk. Among popular tech sites with a known country, the United States, India and Germany lead.
Can I separate IT service companies from software vendors?
Mostly, yes. Software vendors sit in Computer Software and Applications, while IT service firms and agencies often carry Business as a second filtering category. Combining both columns gives a clean split for most domains.
How fresh is the technology list?
About 300,000 newly registered domains are categorized every day and checked again after a week and after a month. All other domains are refreshed monthly, which matters in a category where startups launch every day.
Can I look up single domains instead of buying a list?
A lookup API is included with database licences, so you can check single domains in real time as well as working with the full file.
What does each row contain?
Each row has the domain, IAB 2 and IAB 3 tiers, web filtering categories, personas, country where known, and global and country popularity bands.
How can I buy the technology website list?
Open the pricing page and pick a database size. Tell us which technology tiers and markets you need, and we deliver the matching rows as CSV, Parquet or JSON.
