List of Finance Websites
Banks, payment providers, brokers, insurers, lenders, market data portals, accountants and personal finance publishers. See how many finance domains we track, which lead, and how to slice the list.
How many finance websites are there?
Of over 120 million categorized domains, 3,282,275 carry the Financial Services category, about 3.2% of the web. Among the 300,000 most popular domains, 13,693 are finance sites, or 4.6%.
Money is a daily habit: people check balances, pay bills and watch markets every day. Behind the famous brands stand hundreds of thousands of advisers, brokers, accountants and local lenders, each with a site of its own.
Financial Services
Every domain where finance is part of the site: banks, insurers, brokers, lenders, advisers, payment firms.
Finance first
Domains where financial services is the main subject. The tight list for most finance work.
Online Banking
Sites with banking and account services. A separate category, useful for allow lists and fraud checks.
Cryptocurrency
Exchanges, wallets and crypto projects. Kept separate, so you can include or exclude them on purpose.
Why three categories? Finance needs finer rules than most subjects. A network team may allow banking, a brand may avoid crypto, and a fintech seller may want only brokers. Separate categories make each of these a single filter.
Top 10 finance websites
The leading finance websites in our data, ranked by popularity among real users. Payments and market data lead, followed by card issuers and large banks.
The mix shows that finance online is far more than banking: only a few of the ten are banks, while the rest help people pay, send, track and compare money. Payment and data firms reach far beyond any single country, which is why they top the global ranking.
Just below come more US banks and card issuers, credit score services, stock exchanges in India, French and Polish banks, and Brazilian payment apps. Finance is very national: in each country, local banks lead the country band even when they rank lower worldwide.
The top 10 also shows how broad finance is online. Payments, transfers, charts, market news, cards and banking each claim a place, and India places a market news site in the global top three.
Finance subcategories in the IAB Content Taxonomy
The IAB tiers tell you which part of finance a site serves. These are the IAB version 3 Personal Finance tiers across the full database.
| IAB v3 subcategory | Domains | Typical sites |

What popular finance sites focus on
Among the 13,693 popular finance domains, these deeper tiers lead.
Inside these tiers sit even finer subjects, such as personal loans (382 popular domains), credit cards (298), health insurance (212) and motor insurance (127). The full tree is on the taxonomy page.
Finance websites by country
Of the 13,693 popular finance domains, 8,396 have a country assigned. Finance is regulated nationally, so most banks, insurers and lenders serve one country.
The two columns tell different stories. India has many popular finance sites, driven by market data, investing apps and lenders, while its banks are fewer in the popular set. Germany is the opposite, with a long list of regional banks.
| Country | Share of popular finance sites | Share of popular online banking sites |
|---|---|---|
| United States | 16.1% | 16.5% |
| India | 7.9% | 2.9% |
| Germany | 6.0% | 13.0% |
| Brazil | 4.7% | 3.6% |
| United Kingdom | 4.3% | 2.7% |
| France | 3.4% | 2.2% |
| Italy | 2.6% | 2.0% |
| Russia | 2.5% | 2.4% |
| Poland | 2.5% | 2.2% |
| Spain | 2.3% | 2.0% |
Germany's banking share
- 13.0% of popular online banking sites with a known country are German.
- Germany has many savings banks and cooperative banks, each with its own site.
- That makes German banking lists long, even though each bank is regional.
Full database by ending
- .com: 1,697,015 finance domains
- .net: 99,396 and .uk: 92,797
- .br: 75,577 and .info: 68,717
- .au: 48,604 and .ca: 32,734
- .finance: 4,630 of 7,432 domains
The .bank ending is restricted to verified banks and similar regulated institutions, and holds 1,527 domains in our data. Most banks still use their long-standing domains. See Germany domains, India domains and United Kingdom domains.
Popularity bands of finance websites
A small group of payment firms and market data sites reaches global scale. Banks, insurers and lenders cluster in national bands.
| Global popularity band | Popular finance domains | Typical sites |
|---|---|---|
| Top 1,000 | 17 | Payment platforms, market data, the largest banks |
| 1,001 to 5,000 | 98 | Card issuers, large banks, money transfer, brokers |
| 5,001 to 10,000 | 129 | National banks, stock exchanges, finance news |
| 10,001 to 50,000 | 1,060 | Regional banks, insurers, fintech apps |
| 50,001 to 100,000 | 1,411 | Credit unions, lenders, comparison sites |
| 100,001 to 500,000 | 9,997 | Advisers, brokers, local banks, accountants |
| 500,001 to 1,000,000 | 981 | Small firms and niche finance sites |
For B2B sellers, the country popularity band is often the better guide. A savings bank can be a top site in its region and still sit in a low global band. Most popular finance domains, 9,997 of 13,693, sit in the 100,001 to 500,000 band.
Types of finance websites in the list
The finance list mixes regulated institutions, technology firms and publishers. These groups make up most of it.
Banks and credit unions
Retail, savings and cooperative banks. Often Online Banking plus Consumer Banking or Business Banking tiers.
Payments and cards
Wallets, card issuers, transfer services and payment processors.
Brokers and investing
Trading platforms, fund managers, robo-advisers and exchanges.
Insurance
Insurers, brokers and comparison sites for car, home, health and life cover.
Lenders
Personal loans, mortgages, credit cards and buy-now-pay-later services.
Accountants and tax
Accounting firms, tax advisers and tax software, with Business Accounting and Personal Taxes tiers.
Finance publishers
Market news, data portals and personal finance blogs. Often also News/Media.
Crypto services
Exchanges, wallets and token projects, in the separate Cryptocurrency category.
Who buys a list of finance websites, and why
Finance lists are bought to sell to financial firms, to protect their customers, and to handle finance content with care.
Fintech and B2B sellers
Core banking, compliance, KYC and payment tools find banks, lenders and brokers by country and size. See finance and banking domains.
Anti-phishing teams
Banks are among the most copied brands in phishing. A trusted list of real banking domains helps flag look-alikes before customers enter their details. See malware and phishing protection.
Network and endpoint security
Banking sites are often excluded from TLS inspection for privacy. The Online Banking category makes that rule easy. See enterprise network security.
Advertisers and adtech
Reach readers of finance publishers, and handle loans, crypto and trading content under stricter rules. See programmatic advertising.
Investors and analysts
Map fintech competitors, track new entrants and size segments. See investment and trading domains.
Insurance distribution
Find brokers, comparison sites and partners by line of cover. See insurance domains.
Data enrichment firms
Tag company records with finance subjects for scoring and segmentation. See data enrichment services.
Compliance teams
Watch for unlicensed lenders and investment offers that appear as new domains every day.
Finance ads need care: many ad platforms and regulators apply extra rules to loans, trading and crypto offers. Check the current rules in each market. A finance list with separate tiers for lending, investing and crypto lets you apply those rules by category instead of site by site.
Look-alike banking domains: a new domain that mixes a bank name with words like "secure" or "login" and is not in the banking list deserves a closer look. Security teams often run this check on every new domain in the daily feed.
Questions buyers ask about finance lists
Finance buyers are careful buyers. These are the questions that come up most.
Does the list show licences?
No. It describes what a website covers, not its regulatory status. Pair it with official registers when licence status matters.
Are scam finance sites in it?
Sites are categorized by what they show. Fake investment pages can look like finance sites, so use domain age and popularity bands as extra signals.
Can I separate business and retail banking?
Yes. Consumer Banking and Business Banking & Finance are separate IAB tiers.
Is crypto mixed into finance?
Crypto has its own category with 57,237 domains. For just over half of those domains, another category is the main subject, so filter on every category, not only the main one, if you want crypto out.
Do I get non-English banks?
Yes. Banks on every country ending are covered, from savings banks in Germany to digital banks in Brazil.
Can I check single sites live?
Yes. A lookup API is included with licences, next to the CSV, Parquet and JSON files.
Finance and its neighbouring categories
Finance borders several other categories. These help you widen a list on purpose or clean it.
| Category | Domains | How it relates to finance |
|---|---|---|
| Business | 16,195,218 | Company sites in general; combine with finance tiers for B2B finance firms |
| Real Estate | 2,751,763 | Mortgages and property investment sit next to finance |
| Cryptocurrency | 57,237 | Exchanges, wallets and token projects |
| Gambling | 2,268,282 | Kept apart; some trading and betting offers look alike |
| Government & Legal | 1,707,141 | Tax offices, regulators and central banks |
Three finance list recipes
US credit unions and banks
Online Banking plus Consumer Banking, country United States. A base list for core banking and digital banking vendors.
European brokers
Personal Investing and Stocks and Bonds tiers, countries in the EU, crypto removed. Useful for trading tech and market data sellers.
Finance publishers worldwide

Columns included in the finance list
Every finance domain comes with all database fields, one row per domain, as CSV, Parquet or JSON. The example values are real rows.
| Field | paypal.com | investing.com |
|---|---|---|
| IAB v2 Tier 1 to 4 | Personal Finance > Consumer Banking | Business and Finance > Industries > Financial Industry |
| IAB v3 Tier 1 to 4 | Personal Finance > Consumer Banking | Business and Finance > Industries > Financial Industry |
| Web filtering categories | Business, Financial Services, Online Banking, Shopping | Financial Services, News/Media |
| Audience personas | Typical visitor profiles | Typical visitor profiles |
| Country | United States | Israel |
| Global popularity band | Top 1,000 | 1,001 to 5,000 |
| Country popularity band | Top 1,000 in its country | Top 1,000 in its country |
The extra categories explain each site: paypal.com is also used for shopping, investing.com is also a news publisher. With ranked categories you can keep both in a finance list and still route them correctly elsewhere. Look up any site in the domain checker.
How to build the finance list you need
These choices cover most finance lists. Each uses a field already in the file.
Choose what goes in
- Financial Services as main subject for pure finance firms
- Online Banking for banks with account access
- IAB tiers for insurance, investing, loans or taxes
- Cryptocurrency only if your use case needs it
Then narrow it
- Country and domain ending for one market
- Country popularity band to find leading local banks
- Remove News/Media for firms only, or keep it for publishers
- Remove Shopping to drop payment-heavy retail sites
Recipe: UK insurers and brokers = Financial Services as main subject + IAB Insurance tier + .uk or country United Kingdom. Add the Auto Insurance tier (66,196 domains in the full database) for a motor-only list.
Keeping the finance list current
New fintech every day
About 300,000 newly registered domains are categorized daily, including new apps, lenders and payment firms.
Second and third checks
Each new domain is checked again after a week and after a month, because many finance sites launch with a waiting list page.
Mergers and rebrands
All other domains are refreshed monthly, so merged banks and retired brand domains move out of the list.
Parked domains flagged
Expired finance domains that turn into parked pages move to the Parked / For-Sale category.
