List of Gaming Websites
Over a million categorized gaming domains: game publishers, stores, browser game portals, mod hubs, wikis, esports and gaming media. Split by platform and genre, with popularity bands and IAB tiers on every row.
Gambling sites are kept out. This is a list of video game websites, not casinos.
Three ways to count gaming websites
"Gaming" means different things to an ad platform, a parental control app and a market analyst. Our database of over 120 million domains gives you three counts, and each row carries all of them, so you choose the boundary.
Gaming filtering category
Every domain where video games are a real part of the content. The widest practical list, used for filtering and for reach campaigns.
IAB 3 Video Gaming
Domains whose main subject is video games under IAB Content Taxonomy 3. Tight and clean, with platform and genre in Tier 2 and Tier 3.
IAB 2 Video Gaming
IAB Content Taxonomy 2 draws a wider Video Gaming boundary. Use it when your platform still runs on version 2 signals.
Top 10 gaming websites
The ten best-known gaming domains in the list, ordered by popularity among real users. Video platforms and chat apps that host a lot of gaming content are counted in their own categories and left out here. Below the top ten, the list runs through console makers, publishers, game wikis and many thousands of smaller fan and guide sites.

eSportsGaming website subcategories (IAB Tier 2)
95% of Video Gaming domains carry a Tier 2 subcategory. Full-database counts below; bars show each group's share of all Video Gaming domains.
Video Game Genres
Sites defined by the kind of game rather than the device. Tier 3 names the genre, so you can pull only strategy, simulation or puzzle sites.
Console Games
Console makers, console game news, trophy and achievement trackers, and retailers selling console titles.
Mobile Games
Mobile game studios, app game guides, tier lists and mobile esports. A fast-growing segment with many new domains.
PC Games
PC stores, mod repositories, game wikis and browser game portals. Small in count, but it holds many of the most visited gaming domains.
eSports
Teams, tournaments, rankings and esports media. A compact list that suits sponsorship research.
Genres you can filter to in Tier 3
Among popular gaming domains, the largest genre groups are MMOs, Casual Games, Simulation and Strategy. Casual and educational genres matter most for school and family filtering, while role-playing and strategy genres attract older, high-spending players.
Where gaming websites live: countries and domain endings
Gaming is the most global category in this series. Most popular gaming sites use .com or a gaming-friendly ending rather than a country domain. Among the 300,000 most popular domains, 6,223 of the 8,021 gaming sites have no single home country.
| Country (popular gaming domains with a known country) | Gaming domains in the top 300,000 | Typical sites |
|---|---|---|
| Russia | 248 | Game news, guides, mod sites and Russian-language communities |
| United States | 202 | Publishers, console makers, gaming media and esports leagues |
| Germany | 113 | Gaming magazines, PC hardware gaming sites, game studios |
| Japan | 108 | Game wikis and strategy guides for console and mobile titles |
| United Kingdom | 102 | Gaming news, retailers and mod platforms |
| France | 96 | French-language gaming media and forums |
Domain endings that signal gaming
These generic endings carry a high share of Video Gaming sites in the full database. They are useful when you look for new gaming domains.
What kinds of gaming websites are in the list
Platform and genre describe the game. Site type describes what the website does, which often matters more for targeting, sales and filtering.
Publishers and studios
Official sites of game companies and individual titles. Fewer in number, but brand-safe and well known. Good for partnership and sponsorship outreach.
Stores and launchers
Digital storefronts, key shops and console stores. The commerce layer of gaming and a strong fit for hardware and accessory ads.
Browser game portals
Instant-play sites with hundreds or thousands of games. High traffic from young users and a constant flow of copycat domains.
Mods and user content
Repositories for mods, maps, skins and custom servers. Deeply engaged PC players who spend long sessions on these sites.
Wikis, guides and databases
Walkthroughs, item databases, tier lists and build planners. Search-driven traffic with clear intent around one game.
Gaming media and communities
News, reviews, video channels, forums and clan sites. The best inventory for broad gaming campaigns.

Why: a mobile strategy game should run on mobile and strategy sites, not on all gaming sites.
Hardware and peripheral brands
Reach PC and console players with offers for graphics cards, headsets and controllers.
Why: PC Games and Console Games give clean audience splits.
Adtech and SSPs
Label gaming inventory for programmatic advertising and RTB.
Why: buyers pay more for inventory they can describe precisely.
Parental control and school apps
Limit gaming in school hours and keep it apart from gambling. See parental controls and family safety.

Investors and analysts
Track how many gaming sites exist per genre, platform or country over time.

Gaming list quality checks
Gaming is a noisy category. These checks keep the list useful.
- Casino, betting and poker domains are labelled Gambling and kept out of the gaming list.
- Video platforms and chat apps with gaming communities are counted in their own categories, with Gaming as a secondary tag.
- Browser game mirrors on cheap endings are flagged so you can drop them from ad lists.
- New domains are checked again after a week and after a month, as many portals add games after launch.
- All other domains are refreshed every month.
- You can check any single site with the domain category checker.

Gaming website list: FAQ
How many gaming websites are there?
Our database holds 1,136,154 domains tagged with the Gaming web filtering category. By IAB Content Taxonomy 3, 644,131 domains have Video Gaming as their main Tier 1 category; IAB 2 counts 2,277,066 because it groups more sites under Video Gaming.
Is gambling included in the gaming list?
No. Gambling is a separate web filtering category with 2,268,282 domains. Casino, betting and poker sites are kept out of the gaming list so that a video game audience is not mixed with gambling.
Can I get only mobile games or only console games?
Yes. The IAB Tier 2 column splits Video Gaming into Video Game Genres (232,832 domains), Console Games (172,771), Mobile Games (141,254), PC Games (37,810) and eSports (26,354).
Why do IAB 2 and IAB 3 give different gaming counts?
The two taxonomy versions draw the Video Gaming boundary differently. IAB 3 places many game-related sites in other Tier 1 categories, so its Video Gaming count is smaller. Both versions are on every row, so you can pick the one your platform uses.
Which countries have the most gaming websites?
Among popular gaming domains with a known country, Russia, the United States, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and France lead. Many gaming sites are global and use .com, .io, .gg or .games endings rather than a country domain.
Are browser game portals and modding sites included?
Yes. Browser game portals, mod repositories, game wikis, esports statistics sites and publisher sites are all part of the category, and each row tells you which platform or genre it covers.
Can I get a list of esports websites only?
Yes. The eSports subcategory holds 26,354 domains across the full database: teams, leagues, tournament organisers, rankings and esports news. It is a compact list that suits sponsorship research and team outreach.
Can schools use the list to block games during lessons?
Yes. Schools and family apps often block browser game portals while allowing educational games. The genre column marks Educational and Family games, so you can treat them differently from action or casual portals.
How often does the gaming list change?
About 300,000 newly registered domains are categorized every day, and each new domain is checked again after a week and after a month. All other domains are refreshed monthly, which keeps new game portals and mirrors from slipping through.
What format is the gaming list in?
The list comes as a downloadable CSV file, with Parquet and JSON available, using the same columns as the full categorized database.
How do I get the full gaming website list?
See the pricing page for database sizes, and tell us which gaming segments, platforms or markets you need. The gaming rows are part of the full database.
