List of Entertainment Websites
Music, movies and television on one categorized list: streaming services, film databases, record labels, artists, cinemas, TV channels and fan sites. Over 4.6 million domains with genre, country and popularity band, and with unlicensed content kept out.
Three entertainment lists in one
Entertainment is one of the biggest consumer categories in our database of over 120 million domains. It splits cleanly into three Tier 2 groups, and almost every buyer wants one of them more than the others.
Music
3,456,639Artists, bands, labels, music schools, venues, radio, lyrics and music streaming. 75% of the category, because so many musicians and teachers run their own sites.
Movies
802,033Film databases, studios, cinemas, film festivals, reviews and licensed movie streaming. 17.4% of the category.
Television
270,124TV channels, broadcasters, TV guides, series fan sites and video on demand. 5.9% of the category.

IAB 2 vs IAB 3: how entertainment is grouped
The two taxonomy versions organise entertainment differently. Both columns are on every row, so you can use whichever version your platform reads.
| Content | IAB 2 (Tier 1 category) | Domains | IAB 3 (in this file) | Domains |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Music | Music and Audio | 3,761,365 | Entertainment > Music | 3,456,639 |
| Movies | Movies | 910,723 | Entertainment > Movies | 802,033 |
| Television | Television | 293,551 | Entertainment > Television | 270,124 |
| Pop culture | Pop Culture | 263,919 | Pop Culture | 263,931 |
In IAB 3 the counts are a little lower because some sites move to neighbouring categories such as Events or Fine Art. The IAB 3.0 vs 3.1 guide and the IAB categories list explain the wider structure.
Music genres you can filter to
Genre-specific music sites sit in their own Music group in the IAB 3 column, with 253,366 domains in total. These are the largest genres, with full-database counts.
Pop culture, events and the arts next door
These neighbouring groups are not in IAB Entertainment, but buyers often add them for reach or for a specific audience. Full-database counts:
Pop Culture
Celebrity news, humour and satire, celebrity style and fan gossip. Humor and Satire alone holds 157,443 domains.
Fine Art > Theater
Theatres, drama companies, musicals and performing arts venues.
Comics and Graphic Novels
Comic publishers, webcomics, manga and graphic novel shops.
Awards Shows
Film, music and TV award events and their coverage.
Fan Conventions
Comic, anime, gaming and fan conventions.
Streaming Media tag
Sites that stream audio or video, across all topics. Podcasts adds 92,853 domains.
Kinds of entertainment websites
Within music, movies and TV, the site type decides what a domain is worth to you: an ad placement, a sponsorship partner, a customer or a site to block.
Streaming services
Licensed music and video streaming. Few domains, huge audiences, and often their own advertising products.
Databases and reviews
Film, TV and music databases, review aggregators and lyrics sites. Search-driven traffic with strong intent.
Artists and bands
Official sites of musicians, bands, DJs and composers. The long tail of the music group, ideal for music tech and gear brands.
Labels, studios, broadcasters
Record labels, film studios, production companies and TV channels. High-authority sites for partnerships.
Venues and cinemas
Concert halls, clubs, cinemas and festivals. Local and event-driven, with ticketing on many sites.
Music education
Music schools, private teachers and instrument lessons. A surprisingly large share of the music group.
Fan sites and media
Fan communities, entertainment news and series wikis. Engaged audiences that suit launch campaigns.
Unlicensed sites
Pirate streaming and download domains. Labelled for blocking and brand safety, excluded from ad lists.
Entertainment websites by country
Entertainment is both global and deeply local. Global streaming brands sit on .com, while artists, venues and broadcasters mostly use their country domains, so market-level lists work well here. Counts are domains with Entertainment as main IAB 3 category.
| Ending | Entertainment domains | Ending | Entertainment domains |
|---|---|---|---|
| .com | 2,373,270 | .fr | 81,113 |
| .de | 439,203 | .ru | 66,593 |
| .org | 172,012 | .ch | 65,239 |
| .net | 171,906 | .jp | 59,045 |
| .uk | 120,789 | .it | 49,445 |
| .nl | 84,767 | .cn | 33,987 |
Popular sites by country
Among the 300,000 most popular domains with a known country, entertainment sites are led by the United States (690), Japan (352), Russia (302), Germany (293), India (280), France (237) and Brazil (212).
Japan's strong showing
Japan ranks second among popular entertainment sites, with anime, TV programme and music sites all well represented. See Japan domains.
Germany's music scene
The .de ending holds 439,203 entertainment domains, many of them musicians, choirs, music schools and local venues. See Germany domains.
Who buys a list of entertainment websites
Entertainment audiences are large and emotionally engaged, and they are exposed to more unlicensed content than most. That creates demand on both the reach side and the safety side.
Studios, labels and promoters
Promote releases, tours and premieres on sites that match the genre and market, from rock fan sites to film review portals.
Adtech and SSPs
Label entertainment inventory with IAB tiers for programmatic advertising, while keeping pirate domains out of supply.
Brand safety teams
Use the unlicensed-site labels as an exclusion list and the licensed list as a safe inclusion list.
Music tech and gear brands
Reach artists, bands and music teachers with instruments, recording software and distribution services. See music and audio domains.
ISPs and filtering vendors
Manage streaming bandwidth and block piracy on networks, with categories that update as mirror domains appear.
Media researchers
Count streaming services, cinemas or music venues per market, or track the size of a genre over time.
What entertainment buyers worry about, and the answer
"Will my ads land on pirate sites?"
Not from this list. Unlicensed sites carry their own labels and are removed from every advertising list by default. You can also get them as a blocklist.
"Is it just the big streaming brands?"
No. The top ten are household names, but the list holds millions of artists, venues, labels, cinemas and fan sites in the long tail.
"Does it keep up with new sites?"
Yes. New domains are categorized daily and every other domain is refreshed monthly, which matters in a category where releases and mirror sites appear every week.

How we keep the entertainment list clean
Entertainment changes fast and attracts more risky domains than most categories. These are the checks behind the list, and the reason a list that was correct last year can be a liability today if nobody maintains it.
Mirror domains tracked
Unlicensed sites rotate through new domains. About 300,000 new domains are categorized daily, which catches mirrors quickly.
Rechecks after launch
Each new domain is checked again after a week and after a month, as many sites only add content later.
Adult content separated
Adult video sites carry their own category and never enter an entertainment list.
Spot checks
Check any service, label or fan site with the domain category checker.
How to get the full entertainment list
Pick groups
Music, movies, TV, or all three, plus pop culture if you need it.
Narrow it
Genre, country, popularity band or site type.
Set safety rules
Unlicensed sites out, or delivered as a separate exclusion file.
Download
CSV, Parquet or JSON, refreshed monthly, with a lookup API.

Can I get only movie or only music websites?
Yes. The IAB Tier 2 column splits Entertainment into Music, Movies and Television, so each can be delivered as its own list.
Are pirate streaming sites in the list?
Unlicensed streaming and download sites exist in the database so that brand safety and filtering teams can block them, but they are labelled and kept out of advertising lists and public top lists. You can receive them as a separate exclusion file.

Can I use the list to block streaming on a network?
Yes. Network teams combine the Movies, Television and Music groups with the Streaming Media tag to manage bandwidth, and use the unlicensed-site labels to block piracy.
