List of B2B Websites by Industry

Every company that sells to other companies has a website, from global carriers to the machine shop down the road. Put those websites into industries and countries, and you have the backbone of a target account list, a market sizing model or a CRM clean-up.

Our data holds about 16.2 million business websites, each with IAB industry tiers, country, audience personas and popularity among real users.

16.2Mdomains in the Business category
24.6Mdomains on IAB Business and Finance topics
16.4Mdomains with an IAB industry tier
30,354business sites among the 300,000 most visited

Why the website is the best key for B2B data

Company names are messy: legal names, trading names, abbreviations and translations. The website domain is short, unique and already present in almost every B2B system.

Unique

Two companies can share a name. They cannot share a domain, so matching is exact.

Everywhere

Work emails, CRM records, ad logs and invoices all carry a domain, so the list joins to all of them.

Self-described

The site says what the company does, in its own words, which keeps industry labels close to reality.

Current

Websites change when businesses change direction. Regular refreshes pick that up faster than annual registries.

Two ways to define a B2B website

"Business website" can mean the company's own site, or any site about business. The database supports both, and the counts differ.

16.2 million

Business category

Domains whose web filtering category includes Business: company sites, service providers, manufacturers, agencies and trade bodies.

24.6 million

IAB Business and Finance

Domains whose main IAB topic is Business and Finance. Broader, because it also includes business news, economy and finance topics.

16.4 million

IAB Industries branch

Domains placed under the Industries branch of Business and Finance, which is where industry labels such as Manufacturing or Aviation live.

7.9 million

IAB Business branch

Domains about business functions rather than industries: marketing, logistics, HR, business IT and small business topics.

For lead generation, most buyers start with the Business category and add IAB industry tiers. For market research, the broader IAB view is often the better base.

B2B websites by industry tier

Industry is where a B2B list becomes useful. These counts show sites with an IAB Business and Finance topic, by Tier 3 label, among the 300,000 most visited domains, where well-known companies cluster.

10 well-known B2B websites

Among the most visited business sites, these are well-known companies that sell mainly to other businesses, listed in order of popularity among real users.

shopify.comCommerce platform for merchants
ups.comParcel delivery and logistics
fedex.comExpress shipping and freight
dhl.comInternational logistics
adp.comPayroll and HR services
ibm.comEnterprise technology and consulting
mailchimp.comEmail marketing for businesses
stripe.comOnline payments infrastructure
mckinsey.comManagement consulting
accenture.comProfessional services and IT consulting
Logistics stands out at the top: parcel carriers get huge traffic from both senders and recipients tracking deliveries. That is a reminder that popularity measures visits, not company size or revenue.

Several of these firms also serve consumers, which is normal for B2B: shipping, payments and software are bought by businesses but often touched by the public. The industry labels describe what the site is about, so they still place these companies in logistics, payments, HR services or consulting. Large brands like these are useful as test cases when you check how a list treats your own best customers.

Business websites by domain ending

The .com ending holds the most business sites by far, but country endings matter for local B2B work. Counts are domains in the Business category across the whole database.

Many companies use .com while serving one country, so for territory work the country field is usually better than the ending. Brazil stands out: almost a third of all .br domains are business sites. See Germany domains, France domains and the top-level domains list.

Where popular business sites are based

Among the business sites in the 300,000 most visited domains, these countries lead where a single country is clear. Many large companies serve several countries and have no single country set.

Using a B2B website list for lead generation

A list of company websites does not replace a sales tool, but it fixes the step most tools get wrong: knowing which companies exist in your market at all. Contact tools can only enrich accounts you already know about, so the account universe has to come first.

Step 1

Size the market

Count business sites by industry and country to see how many accounts really exist.

Step 2

Define the ICP

Pick industries, countries and popularity bands that match your best customers.

Step 3

Build the account list

Pull matching domains as your target accounts, one row per company website.

Step 4

Enrich and contact

Match domains to your CRM and contact tools, then reach out with industry-specific messaging.

Step 5

Measure coverage

Compare won deals with the list to see which industries and markets convert best.

More on this workflow on the lead generation and sales intelligence page.

Other B2B uses

CRM enrichment

Add industry labels to accounts that only have a website. See data enrichment services.

Lead routing

Take the company domain from a work email, look up its industry and send the lead to the right team at once.

Territory planning

Balance sales territories by the number of real target companies per country and industry.

Account-based ads

Target or exclude business sites in ad campaigns, or find trade publishers for an industry.

Market research

Track how many companies serve a niche, country by country, and how that changes over time.

Supplier and risk checks

Confirm that a supplier's website matches the industry it claims before onboarding.

B2B audience personas

Personas describe who visits a site. For B2B lists they help tell apart sites for executives, specialists and small business owners. Counts are across the whole database.

From website to industry code

Many B2B teams think in SIC or NAICS codes rather than IAB labels. The two can work together.

IAB industry tiers

Describe what the website is about. Fast to apply to any domain and consistent across countries.

SIC and NAICS codes

Describe the registered business activity. Common in government statistics, credit data and many CRMs.

Using both

Our SIC and NAICS codes by website page shows how website categories relate to industry codes. See also website to industry.

For company facts beyond the website, such as size bands, read our guide to company firmographic data.

What a B2B website list does and does not contain

Included

Company domain, Business and other web filtering categories, IAB industry tiers up to Tier 4, country where clear, personas and popularity groups.

Not included

Names, emails, phone numbers or other personal data. The list is about companies' websites, not people.

Formats

CSV, JSON or Parquet, with only the columns you choose. See domain list download formats.

Single checks

Before buying, check a few of your own accounts with a website category lookup to see the labels they get.

Licence

Use the list inside your company or inside your own product. Reselling or publishing the raw list is not allowed.

Refreshes

The data is refreshed regularly. For ongoing prospecting, a new cut each quarter keeps the account list in step with the market.

Popularity as a rough size signal

Website visits are not revenue, but they do separate household names from small local firms. Popularity groups give B2B lists a quick, rough size dimension.

Popularity bandTypical companiesTypical sales motion
Global top 100,000Multinationals, platforms, national leadersEnterprise sales, long cycles, named accounts
100,000 to 1 millionLarge regional firms, strong mid-market brandsMid-market sales, account-based marketing
1 million to 10 millionEstablished small and medium-sized companiesInside sales, partner channels
Not rankedMicro businesses, sole traders, new firmsSelf-serve products, marketing at scale
Some industries break this rule. Logistics and payments get heavy traffic from consumers, while specialist manufacturers can be large companies with modest web traffic. Check a sample before you rely on the band alone.

Worked example: a logistics software vendor

A company selling route planning software wants every mid-sized transport and distribution firm in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Here is how the list is built.

Filter 1

Category

Business, plus Automotive & Transportation where present.

Filter 2

Industry

IAB Logistics and Transportation Industry, and the Logistics label under Business.

Filter 3

Countries

Germany, Austria and Switzerland, by the country field and the .de, .at and .ch endings.

Filter 4

Size

Country popularity groups that skip the very largest carriers and the smallest sole traders.

Result

Account list

A file of company domains ready to load into the CRM and match against existing customers.

The same pattern works for any vertical. Swap the industry label and the countries, keep the rest, and review a sample of the result before the first outreach.

Cleaning a B2B website list

Company website lists have their own pitfalls. A short clean-up before loading them into a CRM saves a lot of confusion later.

Country editions

One company may run brand.de, brand.fr and brand.com. Decide whether you count companies or websites, and group editions if needed.

Subsidiaries and brands

Large groups run many brand sites. Linking them to a parent account is a CRM task, not something the domain alone can tell you.

Parked and dormant sites

Leave out domains categorized as parked or for sale. They look like companies in raw lists but sell nothing.

Free email domains

When routing inbound leads, ignore webmail domains. Only a company's own domain tells you its industry.

Directories and media

Business directories and trade news sites carry business topics too. Remove them from account lists, or keep them as channels for ads.

Existing customers

Match the list against your CRM first, so outreach goes to new accounts and customers get the right message.

Industry views to start from

If you already know your vertical, these ready industry pages show what the data holds for it.

Professional services

Legal services domains and accounting domains for firms that sell expertise.

Technology

Cybersecurity domains and the list of technology websites for software and IT sellers.

Finance and insurance

Insurance domains and the list of finance websites for banks, insurers and fintech.

B2B websites: questions

How many B2B websites are in the database?

About 16.2 million domains carry the Business category, and about 24.6 million carry the IAB Business and Finance topic. Both are part of a database of over 120 million categorized domains.

Can I get B2B websites by industry?

Yes. Business sites carry IAB industry tiers such as Manufacturing Industry, Logistics and Transportation Industry or Management Consulting Industry, so lists can be cut by industry.

Which industries have the most popular business websites?

Among the 300,000 most visited domains, retail, government business, manufacturing, education and financial industries have the most business sites.

Does the list include contact names or emails?

No. It is a list of company websites with industry categories, country, audience personas and popularity groups. You can join it to your own CRM or contact data.

How do sales teams use a list of B2B websites?

To size markets, build target account lists, enrich CRM records with industry labels, route inbound leads and plan territories by country and industry.

Can I filter by country?

Yes. Business sites can be filtered by the country they serve and by domain ending, for example only .de or .co.uk company sites.

Can a company website carry more than one industry?

Yes. Websites can carry several categories, ranked by how much of the site they describe. A firm that makes and repairs machines can show both manufacturing and services.

How do I tell B2B from B2C companies?

The Business category and the IAB Industries branch lean towards companies selling to companies. Retail and shopping sites lean towards consumers. Many firms do both, so a quick review of your top accounts is still worthwhile.

Can I match the list to my CRM?

Yes. Normalise the website field in your CRM to a plain domain, then join on it. Accounts that match get industry, country and popularity fields in one step.

Is the list up to date?

The data gets regular refreshes, and new domains are added as they appear. Ask for a fresh cut before each campaign or territory plan.
